- special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- alternative provision and safeguarding in education settings
- Study Schools and Learning Hubs
- local education authorities and education-place delivery
- education governance, records and public bodies
Our priorities
Our priorities are to:
- give learners a strong foundation and access to high-quality education
- ensure learners achieve and thrive through clear standards, curriculum and assessment
- support further and higher education and progression into skills and work
- improve access and support for learners with SEND or additional needs
- keep learners safe and maintain effective safeguarding in education settings
- make State Education useful, accessible and connected to real-world study and development
Who we are
We are a ministerial department responsible for State Education in Havenstead.
We work with schools, colleges, University of Brightmere, Learning Hubs, Study Schools, local education authorities and education bodies. We also work closely with the Department for Work and Skills on progression and skills pathways and with other departments on safeguarding and learner support.
