Our governance
The Interior Office is led by the Secretary of State for the Interior Department and administered by its senior Civil Service leadership. Its governance covers policing, security, immigration, borders, identity and public protection, with operational and independent bodies retaining the responsibilities assigned to them.
Current ministerial offices and responsibilities are published in the List of Ministerial Responsibilities. Senior officials remain accountable for the administration, governance, risk and delivery of the department within the Civil Service.
